How much does egress (download) cost on Blob?
Zero. We don't charge for outbound transfer, unlike S3, GCS and Azure Blob, which charge per GB egressed.
How do I upload and download via the Blob API?
Via a REST API with API key authentication. Files above 25 MB upload in parts, up to 10 GB per file. It works with curl, fetch or any HTTP client, and the S3-compatible API also accepts aws-cli, rclone and the AWS SDKs.
How does the Blob CDN work?
Every public object is served globally by a CDN at the edge, with more than 200 points of presence and no setup. Cached files are served from the edge at ~11 ms average latency. Private objects don't go out through the public CDN, only through the links you create.
How much does Blob cost? What quota is included?
The storage quota is included on every plan, from 5 GB on Hobby up to 250 GB depending on the plan. Above the quota, storage is charged at R$0.20 per GB, with no download fees.
Does Blob work without an active plan?
No. Blob is part of your Square Cloud plan, so your files are kept for as long as you have an active plan. If the plan expires or is canceled, your objects automatically enter a deletion queue. Renew as soon as possible: once deletion starts, removed files cannot be recovered. If you need more time, download a copy of your important files before the plan expires.
Which file types does Blob accept?
Images, video, audio, documents, archives, backups and data files. Executables and installers are blocked for security. With folder rules, you can restrict a folder to the extensions you choose. Range Request is supported, so video and audio streaming works natively.
How do I keep an object private?
Mark it as private on upload or at any time later. A private object has no public URL and only opens through a temporary link (up to 24 hours) or a share link (up to 30 days, revocable, with a download limit and, on Pro and Enterprise, a password). A folder rule can make everything uploaded to it private.
What is the file durability?

Is Blob compatible with S3?
Yes. In the dashboard, the S3 access tab creates an API key and shows the S3 credential derived from it, with a public bucket and a private bucket. Use it with aws-cli, rclone, boto3 or any AWS SDK.
