Your custom domain live in three steps
Every web application gets a squareweb.app address over HTTPS. From the Standard plan, you connect your brand's domain in the dashboard: the DNS records show up on screen with their status, and the TLS certificate is issued and renewed on its own.
From setup to a live domain
A custom domain takes three steps in the application's network settings. Nothing to install and no DNS server to run.

Enter the domain
In the application's network settings, type the domain and save. A pasted URL, capital letters or accents become the exact hostname DNS expects.

Create the records at your provider
The dashboard lists each DNS record with its name and value ready to copy. You create them at your DNS provider; the domain stays registered in your name.

Live over HTTPS
Once the records propagate, usually in minutes to a few hours, the status changes to Validated and the TLS certificate is issued, at no extra cost.
Every DNS record, with its status
The DNS configuration card shows exactly the records your domain needs, each with a copy button, and refreshes on its own every minute. You see what's missing without opening a terminal.
Each record says what it's for
A CNAME carries the traffic, a TXT record proves you own the domain, and TXT records validate the SSL certificate.
Three states, one verdict
Pending: the record is missing or wrong. Issuing certificate: the DNS is right, just wait. Active: done. When every record is active, the card reads Validated.
Renewals without DNS edits
When the dashboard offers a DCV delegation CNAME, it replaces the certificate TXT records. It never changes, so renewals need no further DNS changes.
Domains with accents, handled
DNS only accepts ASCII, so names with characters such as ã, ç or é go through Punycode. The dashboard converts them as you type and shows the exact value to use.
Converted before saving
Type café.example.com and the field previews xn--caf-dma.example.com: the value that is saved and the one your DNS provider expects, with a copy button.
Paste it however you have it
A full URL, capital letters, a port or a trailing dot are cleaned up into a lowercase hostname. Anything that can't be a valid domain is flagged before it's sent.
Readable everywhere
The field and the Domains page show the name with its accents, with the ASCII form next to it for when you need it.
A squareweb.app address on every deploy
Tick Web Publication when you deploy and the application answers at its own squareweb.app subdomain over HTTPS, before any custom domain.
HTTPS from the first request
The subdomain comes with a TLS certificate, ready for a website, an API or a bot's webhook.
Rename it whenever you want
Change the name in the application's network settings. A new change can be made 60 seconds after the previous one.

The squareweb.app subdomain is included from Hobby. Your own domain and load balancing start on the Standard plan.

The Domains page lists the custom domains and squareweb.app subdomains of all your applications, with shortcuts to each one's metrics, network settings and load balancer.

Which plan do I need for a custom domain?
Standard and up. On Hobby every web application already gets a squareweb.app subdomain over HTTPS, and upgrading unlocks the custom domain and load balancing instantly.
How long until the domain is live?
It depends on your DNS provider's propagation, usually a few minutes to a few hours. The dashboard shows the status of each record and issues the certificate as soon as it validates.
Which records do I need to create?
The dashboard lists exactly the records for your domain, with name and value to copy: a CNAME for the traffic, a TXT record for domain ownership and TXT records for the SSL certificate. Each one shows its status on the same screen.
Do I need to transfer my domain to Square Cloud?
No. The domain stays registered in your name, at the registrar you chose. You only create the DNS records shown in the dashboard at your DNS provider, and you can remove the custom domain from the application at any time.
Can I use the same domain on more than one application?
Yes. Add the domain to another application and load balancing kicks in with round-robin and automatic failover: up to 2 applications on Standard, 5 on Pro and 10 on Enterprise.
Can I use a subdomain, like app.mydomain.com?
Yes. Enter the subdomain in the application's network settings and create the records shown at your DNS provider. The TLS certificate is issued for it the same way.
Does it work with domains that have accents?

Who runs the infrastructure behind my domain?
Square Cloud, a duly registered Brazilian company with a CNPJ, public terms of service and privacy policy, and LGPD compliance. The network and certificates run on Cloudflare's infrastructure, and the domain stays registered in your name, at the registrar you choose.
