What is the Square Cloud File Manager?
It is the file editor built into every application's page in the Square Cloud dashboard. It shows the application's files in a tree, opens text and code in an editor with syntax highlighting, and lets you create, rename, move, upload, download and delete files and folders from the browser.
Do I need to redeploy after editing a file?
No. Saving writes the file straight to your application, with no new upload or deploy. If your code only reads the file at startup, restart the application to load the change. After you edit package.json, the File Manager offers to remove the old dependency files and restart, so the new dependencies install.
Which plans include the File Manager?
Every plan. The File Manager, name search and the shortcuts work on every application, Hobby included; searching inside file contents starts on the Standard plan. See the plans.
Which files can I open in the browser?
Text and code files open in the editor with syntax highlighting, and images (PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP, SVG and ICO) open as a preview. Formats such as PDF, MP3, MP4 and SQLite can be downloaded but not opened. Files over 10 MB don't open or download from the dashboard; a snapshot of the application includes all of them.
How do I upload files and folders?
Drag them from your computer onto the tree, or use the upload button. A dropped folder keeps its structure. Each upload takes up to 100 files or 100 MB; for larger sets, upload a .zip.
Can I search my files?
Yes. Ctrl/⌘ + F searches the current folder and the folders inside it by file or folder name, on every plan. From the Standard plan you can also search inside file contents.
