Retention and limits

Up to 30 days of retention
Manual snapshots and the most recent daily one are kept for up to 30 days. Older daily snapshots are kept for 7.

Databases get one a day on every plan that includes databases; applications, from the Pro plan. Nothing to schedule.

The daily limit of manual snapshots follows your plan's RAM: 8 on 1 GB, 96 on 12 GB. Upgrade and it rises right away.

What is a snapshot on Square Cloud?
A snapshot is a full copy of an application (all of its files) or of a database at a specific moment. You can restore it from the dashboard in a few clicks or download it as a .zip.
Which plans include automatic snapshots?
Databases get an automatic snapshot every day on every plan that includes databases (from Standard). Applications get a daily automatic snapshot from the Pro plan. Manual snapshots are available on every plan.
How long are snapshots kept?
Manual snapshots and the most recent daily snapshot stay available for up to 30 days. Older daily snapshots are kept for 7 days.
How many manual snapshots can I create per day?
Up to 8 per GB of your plan's RAM: 8 a day on a 1 GB plan, 96 on a 12 GB plan. The limit is daily and rises immediately when you upgrade.
Can I restore a snapshot into another application or database?
Yes. The restore dialog preselects the snapshot's origin, but you can pick another application, or another database of the same engine. For databases, you can also create a new one in the same flow and restore the snapshot into it.
Does restoring a snapshot replace the current state?
Yes. A restore replaces all the content of the target with the snapshot's state and cannot be undone. To keep the current state, create a manual snapshot first.
What happens to my applications if my plan expires?
They are removed, but a snapshot of each one is attempted first, and you have up to 30 days to renew and restore from it.
