Is my API always on, or does it sleep without traffic?
Always on. Each API runs in an always-on container with dedicated resources, no serverless mode and no cold starts. The first request after hours of silence answers at the same latency as the thousandth.
How does HTTPS work?
Just tick Web Publishing at deploy: the API gets a squareweb.app subdomain with a TLS certificate, included on every plan. From the Standard plan up you point your own domain, and the certificate is issued and renewed automatically.
Can I connect a database?
Yes, from the Standard plan up. MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL and Redis are hosted in the same workspace and the same datacenter as your API, with a direct connection and 1 ms average latency. Each database gets an automatic daily snapshot.
Is there per-request or per-traffic billing?
No. Traffic is unlimited on every plan, with no bandwidth metering and no per-request charges. The plan defines CPU, memory and storage.
How do I track errors and latency?
On every plan: logs for every request with status code and cache, plus 4xx and 5xx error rates with the routes that fail most. On Pro and Enterprise, the Performance tab adds edge and origin latency by percentile (p50, p95, p99), the slowest routes and a breakdown by country.
Which plan should I pick for a production API?
Hobby already hosts small APIs with HTTPS on the subdomain. For your own domain, a database and load balancing, Standard is the starting point for production.
