Is PHP JIT enabled?
By default, no. You enable it via php.ini by setting opcache.enable=1, opcache.jit_buffer_size, and opcache.jit for your workload. JIT speeds up CPU-intensive apps but can hurt typical web apps (Laravel, WordPress) with warm-up overhead and higher memory use, so the decision is yours.
Do I need to configure Nginx or PHP-FPM?
No. By default PHP's built-in HTTP server is used, which suits small and medium apps. For more concurrency, Swoole is also supported: set START=php artisan octane:start --server=swoole --host=0.0.0.0 --port=$PORT (Laravel Octane) or run a Swoole runner directly, with coroutines, persistent DB connections, and WebSockets without PHP-FPM.
