How do I host a React, Vue, or Svelte SPA?
Build locally (npm run build) and upload the contents of the output folder (dist/ or build/), not the folder itself, as a ZIP, with index.html at the root of the archive. Square doesn't build static assets for you: if you want build-on-deploy, use the Node.js runtime running your production server (Express serving dist/, vite preview, Astro adapter, etc.). For SPAs with client-side routing, rename the build's index.html to vite.html before zipping: the SPA fallback is detected automatically and any unmatched route falls through to it.
Are HTTP/3 and QUIC enabled?
Yes. Every static app is served through the Cloudflare network with HTTP/3 and QUIC enabled.
What does the Cloudflare network provide for static sites?
A CDN with more than 200 points of presence, WAF, always-on DDoS mitigation, TLS certificates issued and renewed automatically, HTTP/3 and Brotli compression. All included on every plan, with no setup.
Which special files does Square recognize?
Three files have a special role: index.html is served as the default root entry point; 404.html is served automatically with HTTP 404 status on any nonexistent route; and vite.html triggers SPA mode, where any route not found falls back to it, enabling client-side routing for React, Vue, Svelte, and similar apps. No need to configure redirects, rewrites, or server rules.
